Advice to the Newly Awakened

by Crimson^Angel

It has come to my attention that a lot of newly awakened vamps in the community have this strange rush complex. This rush complex is when they feel that they need to learn everything all at once, not taking the time to learn the basics. This applies mostly to newly awakened Psi vampires. They want to learn how to manipulate energy, overpower people's minds, cause people to pass out with their draining, among other things. Half the stuff they are asking for, most old vampires can't even do yet -- or at all; yet they want to be special.

Now don't get me wrong. I am not trying to put the new psi vampires down. But it does seem you need to crawl before you learn to walk.

Take the time to learn the basics. Get conformable with the energy around you. Learn the difference between a scan and a drain. Learn to ground yourself. Learn to control your cravings and your draining. Overfeeding and not grounding can lead to you getting sick! -- Energy poisoning, my friend. You new ones aren't learning to filter the energy you are getting. Why? Because you never tried to learn the basics.

A few basics you should look up and that are recommended to learn for any newly awakened vampire are these:

  • Shielding
  • Grounding
  • Centering

Familiarize yourself with the energy around you and your own energy.

And defense.

Once you learn the basics the next steps will follow. If I left anything out, email me and let me know. It's like taking any class: before you can write a book you need to know how to write a sentence or learn to read, write and spell. Or else you'll never get anywhere.

On New Sangs

The first, most important thing you need to learn is safe and sanitary bloodletting.

Always use new blades, needles, or whatever else you use to get blood going from a wound or puncture wound. Make sure you sterilize the skin before making the wound. And clean up when you're done. These tips can reduce scars and infections in both yourself and your donor. Make sure you screen your donor regularly, or that you have an open, honest relationship with your donor. Remember they are your life-source and you should treat then with the same respect you would give yourself. Because without them you will be dead.

And be very careful choosing your donors; don't go picking up strangers without getting full details of who they are. You can possibly endanger yourself or them. There are your country's laws that DO apply to you. If they aren't followed and you get caught there's a good chance you will go to jail or end up with a lawsuit, if you know what I mean.

That's all I have for now. If you have any questions contact me by email (contact info on Contributors page). Have a safe and clean life. And spread peace amongst yourselves and others. and remember -- don't be in such a rush to get started. You grow wiser and stronger with time.

Eerie America TV Series

Eerie America could very well be called The Fodor’s Travel Guidebook for The Addams Family. I read some in-depth information about the show and saw the promo, and from what I can tell, this will be an absolutely AWESOME series if they can get it off the ground. (I'm actually praying they will.) Let others know and see who can help. This is something that should happen! Let's pull together and make it so!

New Orleans Vampire Association
