One Vampire's Prayer

Lord, I sit here thinking about my donor, my source, and she is full of life, vibrant, young, sweet, innocent, and fresh.. I do not want to corrupt her with my darkness. I pray that she mean more to me than a bloody repast. She is vibrant and full of life, and I am cold and empty. And when I will feed from her, then I will be filled with life and vigor, and warmth once again.

I sit here and I realize that it is the life which is in the blood that I seek to fill me. The blood is the medium, but, oh, it is good. If it is that which is in the blood that I seek, -- the life, -- then if only there were a way to feed from that itself, and not even have to deal with the blood... But I cannot. Ahh, to be able to feed, and be free of the bondage that is the reliance upon blood to get what I need.

You are boundless and the giver of life to all living things. If I could feed from your abundance, I would be filled and you would not be any worse from it, being infinite.

~

Fill me, O Lord, and give me the life that I need.

~

Free me from my thirst.
