About Real Vampires
How would someone become a vampire?
Someone either is or isn't, and generally they come into it sometime in their teens; sometimes earlier, sometimes later, sometimes never. But a vampire is born that way, and they awaken to it generally but not always sometime in their teen years.
In the past (and even to some extent today), due to a lack of reliable information, and a proliferation of vampire fiction where the authors theorize what causes it, people associated the awakening with being turned.
