On the Newly Awakened

A lot of times, newly awakened vampires will know very little and have their heads stuffed full of preconceptions that they have gotten from books and movies (having nothing else to go on); they will have no idea what to expect from us or how to approach us, and though they may very well be real vampires (albeit newly awakened), they will attempt to impress us with how vampiric they are, or how they are like. In attempting to get us to believe them, with their heads filled with all the false notions of what vampires are like, yet knowing inside that they ARE vampires of some sort, in some way, will sometimes lead to their "posing" or making wild claims. Perhaps they think they SHOULD be that way, being vampires, and if they are not then we won't accept them. Imagine their surprise/shock (coming too late) to find out that quite the reverse is true! -- We end up screaming at them or sometimes running them off for being fakes and posers.
One could argue that there is accurate information available, but when one feels the pressing, urgent need to communicate with others like themselves, who is going to sit through reading a bunch of web pages when they want to -- need to -- talk, to actually communicate, with other vamps. (And who is to say that they didn't sit through at least some websites, just maybe the wrong websites with the wrong, inaccurate information, filling their heads with more false notions?)
